Getting Your Course Online Quickly

This page provides resources for getting a course online quickly in a crisis. By combining two tools, Moodle (a learning management system) and Zoom (a web conferencing tool), instructors can meet their basic needs for teaching remotely.

Use Moodle for Core Activities

Moodle is recommended as the main hub for your course. Moodle can house your course documents, readings and presentation files. It can also be used to facilitate communication with all the students enrolled in your course as well as provide a record of all your communication. The following resources will walk you through the process of creating a Moodle space for your class using WolfWare, posting to the announcements forum and uploading a resource such as a PowerPoint file.

Use Zoom for Online Class Meetings

Zoom is our web conferencing tool and enables you to have real-time interactions with your students. Zoom can be used to hold office hours and deliver course lectures, and meetings are easy to record. The following resources will walk you through the process of creating a Zoom meeting, sharing that link with students as well as how to facilitate a meeting and deliver a lecture.
