Core Teaching Certification

Great professional development shouldn’t feel like another item stacked onto an impossible to-do list.

The redesigned Core Teaching Certification from the Office for Faculty Excellence makes it easier than ever to improve your teaching on your own schedule. Across five compact modules, you will build a foundation in course design and reflective practice that carries into any course you teach—helping you meet old and new challenges alike, including AI.

The Five Modules are:

• 1: Reflective Teaching
• 2: Designing for Understanding
• 3: Assessing for Understanding
• 4: Designing Student-Centered Experiences
• 5: Evaluating and Refining Teaching

Who is eligible to participate?

Open to all NC State faculty, including professional-track faculty and part-time faculty.  Post-docs who have already fully completed the Teaching and Communication Certificate may apply for this certification. (Graduate students – not eligible at this time, but are encouraged to seek out many professional development opportunities offered by the Graduate School).
