Wolfpack Writes: NC State’s 7-Day Spring Writing Challenge
Join colleagues across NC State for a structured, seven-day writing sprint. Running March 30 through April 5, 2026.
We’re excited to welcome you to Wolfpack Writes, a focused seven-day writing sprint designed to help you move your work forward during one of the busiest weeks of the semester.
This challenge supports you in building consistent daily writing momentum with structure, accountability, and a community of fellow Wolfpack writers alongside you. Whether you’re drafting an article, revising a grant proposal, advancing a dissertation, or making progress on a creative project, this is your opportunity to protect your writing time, generate measurable progress, and finish the week with progress you can see.
What you can expect:
- Daily morning emails with focused guidance and a clearly defined writing mission
- Built-in accountability and community support to help you stay consistent
- Structured progression from goal-setting through habit formation
- Bi-weekly face-to-face writing opportunities at Hunt Library FRC (Wednesdays) and Hill Library FRC (Fridays)
Wolfpack Writes builds on the strong results of the Fall 2025 14-day challenge, which drew 101 participants across 70 departments and every college at NC State, with a 98% completion rate. Eighty-nine percent of participants reported writing habits that persisted beyond the challenge, 40% reported measurable productivity gains in subsequent months, and 95% said they would recommend the program to a colleague. Many described the experience as the first time they had written consistently during a semester in years.
Participants told us that late March brings heavier grading loads, more committee work, and less schedule flexibility than October. In response, CWSP redesigned the spring challenge as a focused seven-day sprint, with completion defined as writing five of seven days.
Wolfpack Writes is part of CWSP’s year-round writing ecosystem, which includes weekly community writing sessions, PagexPage manuscript development groups, and the Summer Writing Retreat (priority registration for challenge completers). Our goal is not simply one productive week, it is building a sustainable culture of faculty writing at NC State.
