Bio
Melvin (Jai) Jackson is the Assistant Vice Provost for Academic Administration and Faculty Engagement in the Office for Faculty Excellence at North Carolina State University. With a strong focus on fostering faculty success, Dr. Jackson leads initiatives that enhance mentoring, retention, and professional growth while promoting accessibility and supportive academic environments.
Dr. Jackson’s scholarly research centers on the intersections of faculty engagement, equity in higher education, and support for neurodivergent learners and leaders. His work informs the development of innovative programs and resources that empower faculty to excel in teaching, research, and service. In addition to his administrative role, Dr. Jackson holds a faculty appointment in the Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development department at NC State, where he contributes to the university’s mission of advancing knowledge and preparing future leaders. Committed to enhancing faculty experiences, Dr. Jackson spearheads initiatives like the Building Future Faculty program, Faculty Mentoring Program, Faculty Learning Community Circles, and Engagement Communities.
