OFE Faculty Fellow Opportunities
Join the OFE team! We are looking to fund ten Office for Faculty Excellence Faculty Fellows for the 2026-27 academic year.
Each fellowship begins August 17, 2026, and ends May 14, 2027. Some positions may have the possibility for renewal through a second year.
In addition to submitting the application form, all prospective fellows must provide a letter of support from their department head. These letters should be emailed to Jonathan Holloway (jphollow@ncsu.edu).
The fellow positions are:
RED Certifications Fellow
Compensation: $10,000
Reports to: Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Development
This fellow will assist with the facilitation of RED Certifications (Core Teaching Certification, Universal Design Certification) and general faculty development.
Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning Fellow
Compensation: $10,000
Reports to: Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Development
This fellow will assist with the facilitation of SOTL Institute and other teaching and learning-related initiatives.
Leadership Programs Fellow
Compensation: $10,000
Reports to: Jonathan Holloway, Director of Operations and Leadership Programs
This faculty fellowship provides an opportunity to explore and have an impact on programs that support faculty leadership growth at NC State. Fellows will engage in a comprehensive review of existing faculty leadership development programs — assessing their reach, effectiveness, and alignment with the evolving needs of NC State’s faculty community.
Interdisciplinary/Extension Fellow
Compensation: $10,000
Reports to: Melvin (Jai) Jackson, Assistant Vice Provost for Academic Administration
This faculty fellowship supports the development and delivery of college and department-level presentations that advance the integration of community-engaged scholarship and interdisciplinary collaboration. Fellows will design and facilitate sessions that equip faculty with practical strategies to connect research, teaching, and service to community impact across disciplines. Through this work, fellows will help cultivate a more collaborative, engaged, and publicly responsive academic environment.
Faculty Affairs Fellow
Compensation: $10,000
Reports to: Dan Monek, Associate Vice Provost for Academic Personnel and Policy
This faculty fellowship provides an opportunity to explore and have an impact on faculty affairs processes at the department, college, and university level. Fellows will work to clarify and update available information on faculty processes, including the creation of DVF training materials for RPT processes and engaging with departments in support of updates to their professional track faculty RULs and processes.
Campus Writing and Speaking Program (CWSP) Fellow
Compensation: $10,000
Reports to: Kirsti Cole and Roy Schwartzman, Co-Directors, CWSP
This fellow will assist with efforts to build and sustain faculty writing groups across disciplines and career stages, conduct outreach to all colleges to recruit participants and promote writing support initiatives university-wide, plan and coordinate one faculty writing retreat per semester, organize writing-related events and programming in support of faculty writing productivity, develop resources to support faculty writing across disciplines and career stages, collaborate with CWSP co-directors and OFE staff on strategic planning around faculty development, and produce brief written documentation and reflections on fellowship activities as requested.
Faculty Learning Community Fellows (4 Positions)
Compensation: $1,500 each
Each of these fellows will assist with the facilitation of a faculty learning community (at least four meetings during the academic year). The four positions are:
- COIL Learning Community Fellow
- Professional Track Faculty Learning Community Fellow
- Part-Time and Adjunct Faculty Learning Community Fellow
- Full Professors Learning Community Fellow
