Faculty awards are an important component of faculty development and advancement. Awards can be beneficial to faculty at all stages of their career. Both internal and external recognition can increase visibility for new research opportunities or provide deserving acknowledgment for career achievements and contributions to the field.

Chancellor’s Innovation Fund Helps Turn NC State Research into Real-World Solutions
Six projects will receive support from the Chancellor’s Innovation Fund this year, a pivotal tool for helping promising NC State research reach its market potential. The work of this year’s CIF awardees ranges from a novel technique for infusing coffee into foods to groundbreaking developments in disease treatment.

Two Faculty Win Holladay Medal
Donald Bitzer and Youngsoo (Richard) Kim received the Alexander Quarles Holladay Medal for Excellence, the highest honor bestowed by NC State and the university’s Board of Trustees. Chancellor Randy Woodson recognized the awardees during 2019 Celebration of Faculty Excellence on May 1.
