Retiring and Emeritus Faculty
We provide valuable resources and guidance for retiring faculty and those seeking emeritus status.
Retirement marks a significant step in the personal and professional lives of NC State faculty members. The university seeks to offer resources to those considering and moving through the process of retirement in order to show appreciation for years of service and to help plan for next steps.
Emeritus/emerita faculty status may be granted by the chancellor to retiring full-time faculty in recognition of dedicated service to NC State. This earned rank entitles its holders to certain rights and privileges, and the university encourages these faculty members to continue their relationship to NC State in various ways.
