Faculty Evaluation Processes and Procedures

We offer resources and guidance on a range of faculty evaluation processes and procedures, including RPT, post-tenure review, annual reviews and statements of faculty responsibilities.

The Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost partners with faculty members to navigate necessary faculty evaluation processes and procedures. We’re here to help in every stage of each process, answer questions and offer guidance along the way.

We seek to recruit, retain and reward top faculty through our robust reappointment, promotion and tenure processes, in addition to promoting academic freedom and excellence. Our office helps tenured, tenure-track, and professional faculty through their annual reviews, and with post-tenure review, which tends to be a more comprehensive and cumulative review of a faculty member’s body of work. We also provide resources on statements of faculty responsibility, including templates, forms and more.

2022 Promoted and Tenured Faculty

Promotion and tenure mark major milestones in the academic lives of NC State faculty. Promoted faculty have met rigorous standards in their realms of responsibility, and tenured faculty have made a significant impact in their discipline. This year, we recognize 115 faculty for these achievements.
