Bio

Dr. Diane Chapman is the Executive Director and Associate Vice Provost for Faculty Development at NC State University’s Office for Faculty Excellence. She is also a Teaching Professor in the College of Education, where she has mentored students and taught a range of courses both in-person and online, covering topics like program evaluation, instructional design, and needs assessment. Dr. Chapman’s administrative and academic work is informed by her deep expertise in educational leadership, human development, and training development. Her contributions have earned her global recognition, including two Fulbright Scholar Awards to France and Kosovo.

Her honors include several teaching awards including the Outstanding Teacher Award, the Gertrude Cox Award for Innovative Excellence in Teaching and Learning with Technology, and the Wagner Award for Innovation in Distance Learning Administration. A champion of open, evidence-based faculty support, Dr. Chapman’s recent work focuses on increasing access to faculty development, with a growing emphasis on international faculty development and global learning. Her work successfully bridges research, policy, and practice to foster faculty success across diverse disciplines and institutional contexts.
