Bio

Dr. Roise is a Forest Management Scientist with a sub-discipline in Wildland Fire Science. His focus is on integrating fields of science into making decision models associated with forest management; his tool set consists of mathematical programming, statistics, computer modeling, and data mining. Wildland Fire Science initially revolved around carbon budgets, but the coupling of fire with water, atmosphere, biosphere, and other earth systems has resulted in many new research questions. He develops forest management plans that often revolve around maximizing Carbon Sequestration and long-term storage in relations to net present value and other objectives.
