Leadership Development Programs

Climate Workshop for Academic Department Heads
This program is an outgrowth of the ADVANCE Leadership Workshop, a NSF-funded project that ran between 2009-2011, and its goal was to promote the advancement and success of all faculty, with a focus on women and minority faculty.
These workshops focus on enhancing the workplace climate in departments.  The program will consist of a series of four workshops plus a survey of faculty and staff in the head’s department.  The workshops address the experiences and successes of past participants, provide readings and discussions on the benefits and challenges of promoting an inclusive climate within a diverse work environment, administer and provide confidential results of the survey, and provide strategies for moving forward.
For information about current and past Climate Workshops for Department Heads, please visit the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity’s website for the program.
