Through NC State
Center for Student Leadership, Ethics, and Public Service: The Center for Student Leadership, Ethics, and Public Service (CSLEPS)  provides leadership education and opportunities to address social justice issues for all NC State students (undergraduate and graduate). They offer students the opportunity to grow as leaders and to make a difference in their community.
NCSU Institute for Non-Profits: NCSU’s Institute for Non-Profits aims to enhance the capacity and leadership of nonprofit organizations through research, education and engagement. They connect NC State University with the nonprofit community, leveraging the expertise and dedication of faculty, students, staff and community partners to build nonprofit capacity and develop nonprofit leaders.
Through Community Organizations
Activate Good: Activate Good works as a “force multiplier” for local causes with volunteer needs. Through their outreach efforts and volunteer matching system, they help recruit and connect individuals, groups, and companies to fulfill volunteer needs with partnering nonprofits in Wake County and surrounding areas.
The Volunteer Center of Durham: The Volunteer Center of Durham helps Orange County’s nonprofits become as effective and efficient as they are passionate about their missions through volunteer training, consulting and business services. Their services are fully integrated, and strengthened through partnership with other local service providers. Together, they work to accelerate the success of Orange County nonprofits, enabling them to reach their full potential.
Triangle Impact: Triangle Impact connects residents of the Triangle to rewarding volunteer opportunities with community agencies throughout the region. By developing and coordinating projects that are scheduled on nights and weekends and can be completed in just a few hours, we make meaningful community involvement possible for even the busiest individual.
DurhamCares: DurhamCares was founded to help Durham residents love their neighbors; not just the people next door, but across town and even across the world. Our vision is to see our city engaged in serving each other, building relationships across cultural boundaries, and transforming our community through committed involvement.
United Way of the Greater Triangle (contact Angie Welsh): United Way of the Greater Triangle was born out of the consolidation of the United Ways of Durham, Orange, Wake, and Johnston counties. With the help of thousands of volunteers, United Way of the Greater Triangle, is now working to build the triangle community. Their priorities include Health, Education, Income, and Safety.

1-800 Volunteer.org: 1-800-Volunteer.org is a national database of volunteer opportunities powered by a volunteer management system for non-profits. You can search here to find a place to volunteer or help in your local community.
All For Good: All for Good is a database that allows you to search for volunteer opportunities in your community. This site also provides other services such as sharing your own opportunities and use of their databases, etc.
The Volunteer Family: The Volunteer Family’s mission is to provide youth and families with the inspiration, knowledge, and opportunities to make a difference in their communities. This is done through special programs, volunteering, and partnerships.

Volunteer Match: Volunteer Match is a search engine for volunteer opportunities. This not only allows you to search for opportunities in your area, but you can keep up to date with what is happening in your community.
