OFD Newsletter: November 28, 2018

The Office of Faculty Development (OFD) invites NC State faculty and professional staff to submit poster and session proposals for the 2019 Teaching and Learning Symposium.

Proposals can deal with a wide variety of topics, including teaching with technology, innovative pedagogical techniques, creativity in teaching and learning, SoTL (Scholarship of Teaching and Learning), Scholarship of Community Engagement projects, sustainability in teaching, and more.

Poster Proposals

Poster proposals should include an abstract of no more than 250 words that succinctly summarizes the poster content. Presenters can make submissions here: go.ncsu.edu/symposiumposters.

Submissions are due by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. Proposals will be reviewed for relevance to Teaching and Learning.

First authors will receive a notification of poster acceptance by January 16, 2019.  Due to the anticipated number of submissions, the Office of Faculty Development will only be able to contact the First Author regarding each poster.

The First Author will be responsible for passing along pertinent information to any co-authors, including deadlines, acceptance decisions, and logistics information about the poster session.

Outstanding Poster Award

A panel including members of NC State’s Academy of Outstanding Teachers will select a poster for an Outstanding Poster Award. Once accepted, presenters who wish for their poster to be considered for the Outstanding Poster Award should submit a pdf of their final poster to faculty-development@ncsu.edu by February 21, 2019.
