Register for Idea Camp Before July 1

Idea generation is described as the process of creating, developing and communicating abstract, concrete or visual ideas. The Office for Faculty Excellence wants to help you harness that process to inspire you for the upcoming academic year by offering Idea Camp.

Idea Camp will focus on how to spark ideas and take them from Idea Camp logogeneration to implementation. The focus will be on innovative pedagogy and educational research. The asynchronous, four part series will take place on each Tuesday in July, starting on Tuesday, July 5. Each installment will include a blog post, short podcast, relevant readings, activities, and more. Each week the new installment will be posted on the OFE blog page and a link will be emailed to all registrants.

The four part series will start with Idea Generation during week one. In addition to the resources above, there will be an in-person ideation session facilitated by Amy Sawyers-Williams from Arts NC State. The exact date, time and location are to be determined. Don’t worry if you can’t make it to the in-person session – it will be recorded and a link will be provided to all seminar registrants.

The remaining three topics will be Idea Refinement during week two, Idea Planning during week three and Idea Implementation during week four. Idea Planning will also include a live Zoom component for those available to participate. Again, the Zoom will be recorded and shared for those that cannot attend during the live session.

If you are interested in receiving the four installments of the #NCStateIdeaCamp Summer 2022 series, please sign up here. As a special gift, the first 50 registrants will receive a Creativity Card set in their campus mail that is designed to provide you with 52 techniques to train your brain for greater creativity. We hope that you will choose to spend some time this summer with us.
