Reappointment, Promotion and Tenure
Reappointment, promotion and tenure mark significant milestones in a faculty member’s academic career. The Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost provides all relevant services and information to support everyone involved in various stages of these processes.
Reappointment is the extension of a faculty contract after a successful initial appointment and review period, while promotion assigns a new ranking for tenure-track and tenured faculty members. Tenure guarantees a faculty member’s continued employment and promotes the academic freedom of the faculty.
