Reaffirmation Overview
Reaffirmation of accreditation occurs every 10 years. NC State’s completed its most recent reaffirmation in 2024.
As part of the reaffirmation of accreditation, NC State submitted a self-study report (Unity ID required to access the website) in September 2023 that was reviewed by a SACSCOC Off-site committee and the university was found out of compliance on five standards. The Univerisity submitted a focused report (Unity ID reqruired to access the website) to SACSCOC in February 2024 that provided additional evidence of compliance for those five standards.
NC State’s next Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), Packways: Learning by Doing, was also submitted in February 2024. This QEP, which focuses on high-impact experiences, is part of a universitywide project to enhance student learning and student success.
An On-Site Reaffirmation Committee, which consists of faculty and staff members from other SACSCOC accredited institutions, visited NC State’s campus in March 2024. The On-Site Committee evaluated the QEP, reviewed areas of non-compliance noted by the Off-Site Committee, reviewed standards and requirements related to the criteria established by the U.S. Department of Education, and investigated any additional areas of interest. The On-Site Reaffirmation Committee completed the Report of the Reaffirmation Committee, which was submitted to the Commission in May 2024.
