Dr. Latasha Wade

Bio

Dr. Latasha Wade is the Associate Vice Provost for Academic Planning at NC State University. In this role, she is primarily responsible for leading degree and non-degree academic program planning for the university. 

Prior to joining NC State, Wade served as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Student Success at Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) where she led student success and enrollment initiatives for continuing and readmitted student populations, managed academic MOU development, and facilitated curriculum approval processes. 

Before rejoining ECSU, Wade held numerous roles in the Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), including Vice Provost. As Vice Provost, she led academic program planning, new degree and certificate program implementation, periodic program reviews, and the university’s promotion, tenure, and post-tenure review processes. Wade also served as UMES’ Accreditation Liaison Officer to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and the university’s primary academic contact with both the University System of Maryland and the Maryland Higher Education Commission. In addition, she was a clinical faculty member in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration where her primary teaching, research and scholarly activity related to diversity, equity and inclusion in pharmacy education. 

Wade earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics and a Bachelor of Science in microbiology from the University of Maryland College Park and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy in Baltimore. She completed post-graduate residency training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Eshelman School of Pharmacy and Kerr Drug. 

Wade maintains an active license to practice pharmacy in both Maryland and North Carolina and continues to engage in scholarly pursuits. Most recently, she collaborated with pharmacy educators from around the world on the development of an international toolkit that addresses inequities in pharmaceutical education and was published in the International Pharmaceutical Federation’s Pharmacy Education journal.
