This research program is focused on the mitigation and adaptation to climate change in sustainable agricultural systems through improved soil productivity. Research initiatives include mitigation of soil greenhouse gas emissions such a nitrous oxide and ammonia volatilization, practices that increase soil carbon sequestration and nitrogen management of fertilizers, organic amendments and cover crops.
