PNC Arena

A new group of NC State students will become alumni May 11 at PNC Arena. The university commencement ceremony will start at 9 a.m., but NC State college and department ceremonies will occur throughout May 9, 10 and 11.

Postdoctoral Research Symposium

The annual Postdoctoral Research Symposium is designed for postdocs and house officers to present their work, establish connections with postdoctoral alumni in the area, faculty members and industry partners, and learn more about the research done in the Triangle.

Remembering Susan K. Nutter

The NC State community is invited to a memorial for Susan Nutter in the Auditorium at the James B. Hunt Jr. Library followed by a reception in the Skyline Reading Room on the fifth floor of the library. The memorial and reception are open to the public.

Faculty Writing Retreat

The Office of Faculty Development has partnered with NCSU Libraries to offer Faculty Writing Retreats each month for tenure and non-tenure track faculty. Space will be limited for each monthly retreat, so please sign up early if interested.

2019 NC STRIVE Central East Conference

Hosted by NC State, this conference offers a multi track system of enriched, informative, and relevant breakout sessions that are tailored to three main audiences; student veterans, higher education staff and faculty, and community professionals who have a primary touch point with military service members, veterans or their families. The conference will also host two student panels, a variety of exhibitors, and offer several special topic poster presentations. Registration deadline is May 31.

Flying with Pandas and Walking in Space: Pushing Boundaries Towards a Better Planet

James B. Hunt Jr. Library Auditorium 1070 Partners Way, Raleigh, NC

In this presentation, accompanied by spectacular imagery, zoo and wildlife veterinarians Lucy Spelman (art school professor) and Rick Linnehan (astronaut) describe how they have pushed past traditional professional boundaries to help make the planet a better place. Their stories show us that collaboration, compassion, and creativity are an important part of scientific work. The event is free and open to the public; no registration is required.

Summer Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium

Undergraduate students from NC State and Summer Research Programs will share their innovative and creative research with the campus at the 18th NC State University Annual Summer Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium where Event is open to all faculty, staff, students and general public.
