Carl Schreck is a senior research scholar with the North Carolina Institute for Climate Studies at North Carolina State University. His research identifies the large-scale drivers, including anthropogenic climate change, for extreme events. He partners with forecasters from the public, private, and academic sectors to improve forecasts of tropical cyclones and climate extremes on scales of weeks to months. Dr. Schreck also leads an effort to provide actionable climate projections for the U.S. Air Force. He enjoys introducing weather and climate to learners of all ages and backgrounds.
