5 Years of Google at NC State

Celebrate 5 Years of Google at NC State with a fun-filled afternoon of Google activities including demos on Google tools, a Video Demo Slam Contest, information booths and keynote speaker Jonathan Rochelle, co-founder of Google Apps and Google Drive, who will discuss Google’s latest developments.

Developing Cultural Acumen

This training, offered by the Global Training Initiative, is intended for professionals who want to examine their own cultural preferences and learn to apply a systematic approach to navigating cultural differences. Register by Nov. 28: $25 for faculty and staff, $50 for the general public. Participants will receive a custom, individualized assessment as well as a one-year subscription to Berlitz's Cultural Navigator as part of their registration fee (a $99 value).

ORIED Seminar: Evaluating Research Development

Come hear Sarah Marina, an Assistant Director in the Tufts University Office of Research Development, discuss several evidence-based tools for use in internal evaluation and illustrate selected approaches with examples from actual evaluations of the Offices of Research Administration and Research Development at Tufts University. This event is free and registration is not required.

Fall Commencement

PNC Arena

A new group of NC State students will become alumni December 16 at PNC Arena. The university commencement ceremony will start at 9 a.m., but NC State college and department ceremonies will occur throughout December 15 and 16. Margaret Spellings, president of the University of North Carolina system, will deliver the commencement address.
