Parents and Families Weekend is a three-day event inviting parents and families back to campus to visit their student(s) and take in a weekend of Wolfpack traditions.
The Proposal Development Unit invites the NC State community to this seminar series to learn more about the National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants program. The Introduction to NIH will kick-off the seminar series with information on navigating the Institutes and Centers of NIH, understanding the grant process, finding help, and general tips for applying. While registration is not required, it is greatly appreciated.
NC State’s Research Leadership Academy is hosting a junior faculty forum for assistant and non-tenured associate Faculty will have the opportunity to question a panel of senior faculty and university leaders about concerns and challenges as junior faculty in today’s research environment. This session is geared toward all university faculty who mentor graduate students and/or postdoctoral scholars.
The forum is a new event derived from what has traditionally been the morning session of the Research Retreat. Similarly to the Research Retreat, the topics discussed during the forum’s agenda should be of interest to all NC State faculty. Please note there is no registration fee for this year’s event, but participants should register as soon as possible so they can be included in all event communications and updates.
All faculty are welcome and encouraged to attend this meeting and participate in a dialogue with each other, Chancellor Woodson, Provost Arden and other senior administrative leaders of the university.
o you struggle to keep writing projects moving during the busy semester? The Office of Faculty Development has partnered with NC State University Libraries to offer Faculty Writing Retreats for tenure and non-tenure track faculty. Our 2019-20 Retreats will be held in the Faculty Research Commons spaces at James B. Hunt Jr. Library (Centennial Campus). Space will be limited for each retreat, so please sign up early if interested.
David Wallace-Wells, author of The Uninhabitable Earth, discusses the motivating force of climate change. Books will be available for on-site purchase from the NC State Bookstore, and Mr. Wallace-Wells will sign books following the talk. This program is sponsored by the NC State University Speakers and Lectures Committee, with support from the Harrelson Fund and the University Scholars Program. This talk is free and open to the public; tickets are available on Eventbrite.
