Packapalooza

Packapalooza™ is a block party and street festival on Hillsborough Street capping off Wolfpack Welcome Week at the start of the academic year. We have everything it takes to celebrate in NC State style, including great music, activities throughout the day, and fun entertainment for the whole family. The event is free and open to the public.

Live From the International Space Station

Talley Student Union, State Ballroom

NC State University and the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics will host a live video Q&A with NASA astronaut Christina Koch, an alumna of both institutions who is currently serving as a flight engineer aboard the International Space Station. During the Q&A, Koch will answer questions from students at both schools. NC State’s Wolfbytes team will also livestream the entire program of events from inside the State Ballroom.

Faculty Writing Retreat

Do you struggle to keep writing projects moving during the busy semester? The Office of Faculty Development has partnered with NC State University Libraries to offer Faculty Writing Retreats for tenure and non-tenure track faculty. Our 2019-20 Retreats will be held in the Faculty Research Commons spaces at James B. Hunt Jr. Library (Centennial Campus). Space will be limited for each retreat, so please sign up early if interested.

Department Head Lunch and Learn – Proposed Changes to ClassEval Reports

This month's topic will be proposed changes to the ClassEval reports used for the RPT process. Department Head Lunch and Learn meetings, sponsored by the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost and organized by the Office of Faculty Development, are open to all department heads.

NIH @ NC State Grantsmanship Series: Introduction to NIH

The Proposal Development Unit invites the NC State community to this seminar series to learn more about the National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants program. The Introduction to NIH will kick-off the seminar series with information on navigating the Institutes and Centers of NIH, understanding the grant process, finding help, and general tips for applying. While registration is not required, it is greatly appreciated.

Research Leadership Academy Junior Faculty Forum

NC State’s Research Leadership Academy is hosting a junior faculty forum for assistant and non-tenured associate Faculty will have the opportunity to question a panel of senior faculty and university leaders about concerns and challenges as junior faculty in today’s research environment.
