How might we more sustainably use water, energy, waste, transportation or food? During this three-day challenge, student teams research, design, prototype and build a new solution that addresses a sustainability challenge. On the last day, community and industry sustainability experts evaluate solutions and award prizes to the top teams.
The Goodnight Scholars Program at NC State welcomes National Geographic Fellow and data artist, Jer Thorp, as its featured speaker for the “Goodnight Scholars Program Presents Speaker Series.”
NC State students, faculty, staff and alumni, as well as the general public, are invited to attend the Diversity in STEM Symposium: Making Space for Ourselves and Others. The event will include sessions on salary negotiation, creating a personal brand, finding and navigating a diverse work environment, and respecting community culture in STEM research. This event is free, but registration is required by Jan. 30.
During this one-day event, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in interactive sessions led by award-winning NC State faculty, attend the 2018 ACC Teaching Lecture, and meet and talk with NC State peers who are interested in teaching and learning.
The spring Diversity Dialogue, “From Dialogue to Action,” will provide facilitated discussion to promote awareness and understanding of different dimensions of diversity as it relates specifically to NC State’s campus culture. This forum will allow individuals to go beyond a discussion of problems and challenges to skill building, action and allyship.
Every spring, the Provost's Office offers general information meetings on the NC State reappointment, promotion and tenure (RPT) process. These sessions are designed for new tenure-track and non tenure-track faculty, those who will be entering the RPT cycle, or individuals involved in the RPT process.

The topic of the Spring 2018 General Faculty Meeting is "Academic Integrity in a Technology-Rich Environment." All faculty are welcome and encouraged to attend this meeting and participate in a dialogue with each other, Chancellor Woodson, Provost Arden and other senior administrative leaders of the university.
