Earth Fair

The Brickyard 2 Broughton Drive, Raleigh, United States

Come to this Earth-focused fair with exhibits, demonstrations and ideas on how you can make the world a better place. This outdoor event on the Brickyard is free, open to the public and sponsored by NC State’s University Sustainability Office. Rescheduled to from Wednesday April 4 to Wednesday, April 11 due to weather.

State of the Sciences: Live! at the Library

James B. Hunt Jr. Library

Join the College of Sciences for a fun, family-friendly event in one of NC State’s most iconic buildings, the Hunt Library on Centennial Campus. The event will feature activities for science lovers of all ages, including hands-on demos, fun and informative talks, tours of the library and its technology capabilities, along with food, wine and NC State beer. The event, which will be part of the North Carolina Science Festival, is free and open to the public, but registration is required. State of the Sciences is presented in partnership with NCSU Libraries.

History Weekend: The Attica Prison Uprising of 1971 and Why it Matters Today

Virtual Event

The history department hosts Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Heather Thompson as the featured speaker at this year’s History Weekend. Ghosts of Attica, a documentary that includes footage shot inside the prison during the four-day rebellion, will be screened at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 13. Thompson will participate in a short Q&A after the film. Her talk,“The Attica Prison Uprising of 1971 and Why it Matters Today,” is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 14. Events are free and open to the public, but registration is recommended.

Service Raleigh

Stafford Commons

Service Raleigh is an annual citywide day of service started in 1998 by NC State's Student Government and Park Scholars. Each year, volunteers from the university and surrounding community unite to undertake a variety of projects, each of which provides much needed assistance to local organizations. Service Raleigh is funded by the Park Foundation, the Goodnight Scholars Program, NCSU Student Government, NCSU Inter-Residence Council, and local donors.

Art2Wear 2018

Art2Wear is celebrating its 18th year as a student-organized runway show that presents fashion, costume and wearable sculpture created by the students of the College of Design at NC State University. This year, each designer's collection is their interpretation of the theme: Ceasura: The Art of Interruption. General admission tickets are $30.

From recognizing this year's sustainability progress to announcing winners of NC State's annual Green Brick Awards, this celebration honors the people, projects and progress that advance sustainability at NC State. World War I Centennial Memorial Observance

NC State University, led by Chancellor Randy Woodson, will mark the 100-year anniversary of the end of World War I and pay tribute to all NC State alumni who served then and subsequently.

Spring Commencement

PNC Arena

A new group of NC State students will become alumni May 12 at PNC Arena. The university commencement ceremony will start at 9 a.m., but NC State college and department ceremonies will occur throughout May 10, 11 and 12.
