Department Head Lunch and Learn – Campus Funding Sources for Graduate Students

This session will focus on campus funding sources for graduate students at NC State. The presenters are:
- Peter Harries, Interim Dean, The Graduate School
- Jon Horowitz, Assistant Vice Chancellor of Research Infrastructure
They will discuss the Graduate Student Support Plan (GSSP), the Graduate School’s current recruiting initiatives, the Graduate School’s new fellowships/scholarships hire, the Office of Research and Innovation (ORI) sponsored seed-funding programs, inter-institutional seed-funding programs led by ORI, and NC State-based (and other) Centers/Institutes offering seed-funding.

Department Head Lunch and Learn meetings, sponsored by the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost and organized by the Office of Faculty Development, are open to all department heads. The monthly meetings are held from September through April to address a range of topics such as how to handle legal issues, difficult employees, budgets, and more. Lunch is provided and registration is required.
