    By utilizing the strengths of our diverse student body, Diversity Education Week (DEW) serves to further equip NC State students, faculty and staff with 21st century skills. DEW advances learning and scholarship, builds understanding and respect among different peoples, and enhances constructive leadership and dialogue in our local and global community. Through education and engagement it promotes awareness and understanding of our nation and world’s diverse cultures and fosters intercultural understanding.

  • Fall Diversity Dialogue featuring Dr. James Loewen – Lies My Teacher Told Me and Race Relations Today

    James W. Loewen is an acclaimed historian and best-selling author whose mission is to overturn myths and misinformation that too often pass for U.S. history. A highly sought-after speaker and author, he engages audiences with intelligence and humor, honing in on a range of topics encompassing U.S. history, multicultural education, civil rights, race relations, voting rights, law and social science.

    This reception will be an interactive celebration of science, education and research and the role beer and food plays to bring it all together.
