Academic Strategy, Innovation and Solutions

 We advance academic excellence through strategic vision, collaborative innovation and effective implementation.

The Office of Academic Strategy, Innovation and Solutions collaborates with colleges and academic units to shape and steward NC State’s academic portfolio. We support the development of innovative, high-impact educational programs—both credit and non-credit—that align with university priorities and the evolving needs of learners and society.

We drive educational innovation through strategic planning, forward-thinking program design and expanded access via flexible, future-ready learning pathways. Our office champions bold academic ideas, fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and delivers practical solutions that turn vision into action.

Units within the Office of Academic Strategy, Innovation and Solutions include NC State Continuing and Lifelong Education (NCSCaLE), Digital Education and Learning Technology Applications (DELTA), the Institute for Advanced Analytics and the Peter A. Pappas Real Estate Development Program. The office also oversees core academic operations, including new program planning, policy development, procedural guidance, coordination of academic Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and other university-level academic processes.

Gift to the Pappas Real Estate Development Program Links Two Industry Leaders

A $1 million gift from real estate leader Howard C. “Smoky” Bissell and his wife Margaret will endow and name the director position within the Peter A. Pappas Real Estate Development Program. 

3 Vice Provost Units To Be Restructured and Renamed

Three NC State vice provost units will be restructured and renamed in order to better align their functions and titles, effective July 1. 

Bill Rand Appointed New Goodnight Executive Director of Institute for Advanced Analytics

Goodnight Executive Director of the Institute for Advanced Analytics Michael Rappa is returning to the faculty in the Department of Computer Science in the College of Engineering, and Bill Rand will be appointed Goodnight Executive Director of the IAA, effective July 1.
