Catalysis Meetings

We’re bringing together bright minds for events that summarize and synthesize the state of the art and identify future directions.

A subset of long-table discussions grows into Catalysis meetings. Catalysis Meetings are large, intensive, one-time events designed in order to advance discussion around a key problem or opportunity. Similar to the Lorentz Center and NIMBioS workshops, NC State’s Catalysis Meetings bring together a broad set of experts to summarize and synthesize the state of the art and identify future directions. A key component of these meetings is identifying, through conversation, the individuals that need to be at the table for next steps. In some cases, the next steps are responses to practical challenges (policy documents, inventions, etc.). In other cases, Catalysis Meetings lead to longer work through Working Groups.

Stakeholder Integration

Beyond academic researchers, these meetings include business leaders and policymakers to ensure the “actionable” nature of the science. By including these stakeholders, OUIP ensures that research questions are aligned with “what society wants and needs” and can inform real-world policy design.

Location

These will be held at NC State’s Main Campus to maximize accessibility for the broader university community and regional industry partners.
