Institutional Vision and Strategy for Microcredentials

Microcredentials at NC State are dynamic and constantly evolving. The university is committed to academic innovation, including alternative pathways and lifelong learning by designing and developing microcredentials. In 2023, Provost Warwick Arden established a Non-Degree Credentials Task Force to define, develop and provide recommendations for scaling microcredential opportunities across the campus. Learn more about the recommendations from the task force.

Following the work of the task force, NC State hired a director of non-degree credential program innovation to support the strategy of microcredentials across the campus.

Due to the evolving nature of microcredentials, future focus may include an institutional strategic plan, ongoing educational innovations, and partnerships with organizations and industries to respond to evolving workforce needs.
