Institutional Effectiveness

We support NC State’s strategic mission by promoting a culture of continuous improvement, advancing student success, and fostering institutional excellence through effective planning and assessment.

Institutional Effectiveness

Institutional Effectiveness (IE) oversees assessment, accreditation and strategic planning efforts at NC State. Through these coordinated areas, the office provides university leaders with the strategic insights needed to support informed decision-making, continuous improvement and sustained institutional success.

Assessment facilitates the ongoing measurement of academic and administrative outcomes to enhance student learning and institutional effectiveness, while our accreditation efforts manage institutional and programmatic accreditation processes to ensure compliance and maintain standards of quality. Additionally, our strategic planning and implementation efforts support the development, alignment and evaluation of initiatives that advance NC State’s mission and strategic goals

Assessment, accreditation and strategic planning are essential and interrelated processes that work together to support the ongoing enhancement of institutional quality.
