Search for the Senior Vice Provost for Instructional Programs Now Underway

An open search for the senior vice provost for instructional programs is now underway. Courtney Thornton, previously the Vice Provost for Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness at North Carolina A&T State University and former Associate Vice Provost for Academic Personnel and Policy at NC State, will become interim senior vice provost for instructional programs effective December 1.

NC State Launches Universitywide Genetics and Genomics Academy

Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Warwick Arden and Senior Vice Provost for Academic Strategy and Resource Management and Chief of Staff Duane Larick today officially announced the launch of NC State’s Genetics and Genomics Academy. The academy represents a universitywide, interdisciplinary effort to engage faculty, staff, undergraduate and graduate students in harnessing the power of science to serve society.

Debbie Acker Appointed Director of Shelton Leadership Center

Debbie Acker, interim director of NC State’s Shelton Leadership Center (SLC), has been named permanent director of the center, effective October 1. Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Warwick Arden made the announcement today.

Senior Vice Provost for Academic Strategy and Resource Management and Provost’s Office Chief of Staff Duane Larick will retire effective January 1, 2022, after 37 years of service to NC State.

Senior Vice Provost for Entrepreneurship Tom Miller to Retire

Senior Vice Provost for Entrepreneurship Tom Miller will retire effective July 1, 2022, after 40 years of service to NC State. Miller previously stepped down as Senior Vice Provost for Academic Outreach and Entrepreneurship in 2021 to focus on leading NC State Entrepreneurship.
