The Program Specialist will have primary responsibility for office administration, event and programmatic development, and public communications (75%) and will provide undergraduate program support (25%) at the Global One Health Academy (GOHA).

Primary Responsibilities (75%):

Reporting to the GOHA Program Manager, the Program Specialist will execute programs that fulfill the GOHA’s objectives in research, education, and public engagement. For the various programs of the GOHA, the Program Specialist will organize program teams, conferences, workshops, and events. The Program Specialist will have primary responsibility for logistical coordination of events, workshops, and conferences, including but not limited to reserving space, coordinating catering and other vendors, planning event materials, setting up and breaking down, and providing on-site support during events. The Program Specialist will assist in recruiting participants, setting goals and assessment measures, collecting and analyzing data on the impact of programs, and building continuous program improvement into GOHA practices.

In coordination with the Executive Director and Program Manager, the Program Specialist will contribute to development and implementation of the GOHA communications strategy. They will have primary responsibility for managing GOHA’s social media platforms, newsletter, and website. The Program Specialist will engage with students, staff, and faculty to promote the GOHA and its programs individually and at public-facing events. Other public engagement opportunities will be available to the Program Specialist based on their interest and experience.

The Program Specialist will be responsible for office administration, email management and response, scheduling, meeting minutes, electronic and physical file management, purchasing, travel, and logistics including but not limited to data analysis and reporting for the Academy. They will work in coordination with staff in offices throughout the university, such as the Provost’s office, OIT, development.

Undergraduate Program Support (25%):

In coordination with the Executive Director and Program Manager, the Program Specialist will provide administrative support to the GOHA Undergraduate Education Lead in development of new courses, minors, and experiential learning programs. Tasks may include but are not limited to administering approval forms and processes for undergraduate courses and minor degree programs, ensuring adherence to NC State’s academic standards and policies; providing support in identifying and cultivating experiential learning opportunities; and coordinating student travel and other logistics for domestic and international research and education experiences.
