Lessons Learned from 2021

2021 was a busy, memorable year for NC State faculty, staff and students. With the continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic, the resumption of in-person activities, innovations in teaching and research, and continued service, the campus community came together and made an impact on the university and in many places beyond NC State.

Donna Petherbridge Named Vice Provost for DELTA

Donna Petherbridge, interim vice provost for Digital Education and Learning Technology Applications (DELTA), has been named permanent vice provost for DELTA, effective January 1. Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Warwick Arden made the appointment. This position now reports to the senior vice provost for instructional programs, where Courtney Thornton is currently serving in an interim role.

The University Standing Committee Survey is available online now through January 31 at 5 p.m. Benefit-eligible employees in a .75 or greater FTE position, along with emeritus/emerita faculty, may serve on a university standing committee.

John Dole Named Interim Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences

John Dole has been appointed Interim Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, effective February 16, after Richard Linton’s departure from the position to become president of Kansas State University. Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Warwick Arden made the announcement today.

College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Dean Richard Linton has announced that he will step down from his position at NC State in mid-February 2022 to become the president of Kansas State.
