July 2021 Provost’s Corner

Provost Warwick Arden

Dear faculty and staff,

Moving closer to the start of a new academic year, I can’t say enough good things about the wonderful people we have here at NC State. Your perseverance and passion for educational excellence continue to set an example for our peers.

Our campus is inching closer and closer to a return to mostly normal operations. You continue to conduct your teaching, research and service in a manner that keeps safety top of mind. You’ve also done a wonderful job welcoming new members of our Wolfpack to campus this summer, including new faculty, staff and some first-time, first-year students expected to formally start classes in the fall.

We have continued to stay busy on campus with camps, orientation sessions and more. There have also been a few additions to our university administration, so I hope you take some time to get to know them. Additionally, I wanted to let you know about the merger between the Office of Faculty Development and the Office for Faculty Affairs to form the Office for Faculty Excellence, which will continue to provide a high level of professional and leadership development to NC State faculty.

Of course, I hope that many of you are also enjoying time with family and friends, taking a much-needed break to rest and relax. Tell us what you’ve been up to and send a paragraph description of your summer adventures, along with a high-resolution photo and your name/position/department to provost-communications@ncsu.edu by August 6.

Thank you once again for all you do for NC State. I look forward to hearing about what you’ve been up to lately and seeing you all very soon.

To keep up with all academic and faculty- or staff-related developments, follow @NCStateProvost on Twitter.

Until next time,
Warwick Arden
Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost
