June 2021 Provost’s Corner

Provost Warwick Arden

Dear faculty and staff,

We’re in the middle of a busy summer season, with no signs of slowing down. The campus community is working hard not only to engage in regular activities, but also to prepare for a return to mostly normal operations this fall. It will certainly look and feel different than last year.

In addition to outstanding commencement ceremonies, we recently celebrated the University Awards for Excellence, the most prestigious honor bestowed upon non-faculty employees. To be honest, each of you deserve recognition for your commitment to helping your fellow members of the Wolfpack throughout a challenging academic year.

Now, we move on to summer session classes, camps, orientation sessions and more. You can read about everything that’s happening on campus in our An Active Summer on Campus article.

Of course we also know that many of you are enjoying some much-needed time off with family and friends, or traveling, participating in summer service and research and more. Let us know what you’ve been up to by sending a paragraph description of your summer adventures, along with a high-resolution photo and your name/position/department to provost-communications@ncsu.edu by August 6.

As we look forward to the fall semester, please keep up to date on measures to Protect the Pack and keep us all safe and healthy for a great 2021-22 academic year. I look forward to hearing from you all and seeing you around campus soon.

To keep up with all academic and faculty- or staff-related developments, follow @NCStateProvost on Twitter.

Until next time,
Warwick Arden
Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost
