September 2020 Provost’s Corner

Dear faculty and staff,

Thank you for your hard work and patience through another tumultuous month. Though the beginning of the academic year didn’t go as we hoped for, we are glad to be able to continue to provide our students with outstanding instruction and resources for success.

We are continuing conversations on how to best serve our faculty, staff and students through this time. You can keep up with the latest COVID-19 updates at NC State’s Protect the Pack website.

I also want to take a moment to welcome our first-year and new transfer students, who are innovative, resilient and dedicated to improving the world. Though they face a new kind of fall, they’re ready to work hard and make the most of every opportunity.

These students are a big part of the “why” behind what we do at NC State. We’re in the process of formulating our next strategic plan in order to continue to serve these students and campus community and set an example of comprehensive excellence in higher education. 

We’d love for you to be part of this strategic planning process by reviewing and providing feedback on our strategic planning task force reports, which are now available. Please submit all feedback to the Strategic Planning Executive Steering Committee through forms available on the individual task force websites by Monday, September 21. 

We are daily growing stronger in our commitment to successfully navigate an ever-changing educational landscape. Again, thank you for your patience and perseverance, and I hope that we continue to move forward as a Wolfpack community.
