Bio

Professor and senior consultant with multi-disciplinary expertise competencies, vast experiences, and qualifications. CK is currently at the rank of an Associate Professor heading the Department of Biosecurity, Ecosystems and Veterinary Public Health (BEP), College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Biosecurity (COVAB), at Makerere University, Kampala Uganda. CK has immersed a lot of experience and expertise in teaching, research, and community engagement activities. CK has formal training in the following areas: Veterinary Medicine, Field and socio-epidemiology, and Rural planning and Project planning and development. CK is strong in establishing One Health multidisciplinary partnerships and networks nationally, regionally, and internationally. CK has led and supervised several multi-country (North-South collaborative) Capacity development-funded projects

CK completed a bachelor’s Veterinary degree (1999), a Master’s degree in Veterinary Preventive medicine (2003), a postgraduate degree in rural planning and development (2005), and another master’s degree in Rural Development (2013) at Makerere University, Kampala Uganda. Currently undertaking a postgraduate diploma in Project Planning and Management (2024) at the Uganda Management Institute (UMI). His doctoral studies in Epidemiology and Public Health (2011) were obtained from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences in Norway.
