Bio

Juliana Makuchi Nfah-Abbenyi is a distinguished professor in the English Department whose areas of research include African, African diaspora, postcolonial literary and cultural studies. She is particularly interested in decolonial north/south environmental and cultural relations with an emphasis on the intersections of gender studies, mobility, border crossings and transnationalism. She has served as President of the African Literature Association and is currently the Associate Dean of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences with interests in local/global engagement and facilitating change through leadership. English and French are her research languages and she enjoys writing fiction under the pen name Makuchi.
