Join GOHA as an Affiliate Member
We’re pleased to announce our affiliate membership program! Faculty, staff, and professionals interested in becoming part of a global One Health-focused community of researchers and educators at NC State can now join the Global One Health Academy as an Affiliate.
Benefits and Opportunities for Affiliate Members
Through the GOHA network, Affiliate Members can create and join interdisciplinary collaborations across campus and enhance their ability to form regional, national, and global networks. They will be listed on the GOHA website under their thematic area of interest. Affiliates will be added to a dedicated Affiliate Members listserv where special events and opportunities can be shared, including semesterly networking social events, programmatic grant opportunities, and more.
Affiliate Members from NC State will have the opportunity to access funds to support catalysis meetings, working groups, or pilot projects. Initiatives must be aligned with one or more of the GOHA thematic areas and be interdisciplinary in nature, bringing in participants from multiple Colleges across NC State and beyond.
Expectations of Affiliate Members
All GOHA Affiliate Members are expected to have an understanding of and an interest in global One Health, with specific interests aligned with one or more of the GOHA thematic areas: driving food and water solutions, combating infectious diseases, and/or addressing climate change and health disparities.
Affiliate Members are expected to contribute to the review of award applications, including for the Global One Health Fellows program, Graduate Travel Award, and potential future opportunities at the undergraduate, graduate, or faculty level.
Affiliates should be willing to potentially serve as an informal interdisciplinary mentor for Global One Health Fellows. This relationship would be mutually agreed upon by both the Affiliate Member and the GOH Fellow on a case-by-case basis. The goal of this mentorship is to provide a different perspective to the Fellow’s research to enhance the interdisciplinarity of their dissertation within the One Health framework.
Service Term
Affiliate Members do not have a specified service term. Once added, they will remain as Affiliates unless they request otherwise. Affiliate Member lists will be reviewed and updated periodically to ensure alignment with current GOHA missions and individual faculty career directions and interests.
