Dear faculty and staff,
Fall at NC State brings with it lots of activity all around campus, and I know you are all staying busy as we move into the second half of the semester.
As you may have heard, after 16 years as your executive vice chancellor and provost, I plan on returning to the faculty in the College of Veterinary Medicine. A national search for the next provost is underway and I will continue in my current role until a replacement is named. It has been a privilege to serve and work alongside you during this time, and I cannot thank you enough for the difference you’ve made in my time here.
We’re gearing up for NC State’s annual homecoming celebration — Red and White Week — which will take place October 22 through November 3. This year is certainly special, with the installation of Chancellor Kevin Howell taking place on October 30. In honor of the week and its events, my office caught up with some university faculty and staff, who are sharing their favorite NC State memories in this newsletter.
Additionally, I’d like to highlight some outstanding faculty and students who are part of the State Employees Credit Union Public Fellows Internship program. At the university, we’re constantly living out our land-grant mission through people who participate in programs like this one.
What an exciting time to be a part of NC State. Thank you for your dedication to our great university over the years, and I look forward to what the rest of the semester holds.

Until next time,
