Teaching and Learning Symposium: Creating Our New Normal

The Office for Faculty Excellence's signature annual event, the Teaching and Learning Symposium celebrates teaching and learning at NC State by bringing together NC State faculty and staff to participate in interactive sessions led by NC State faculty, attend a keynote lecture, view a poster session, and meet and talk with peers who are interested in teaching and learning.

Mindfulness Practices in the Classroom Webinar (Faculty Conversation Series)

The benefits of mindfulness practices have been realized with health for several years; however, its role to help with student learning and memory is still being explored. Series facilitator Dr. Maria Gallardo-Williams will be joined by OFE Faculty Fellow Dr. Erica Kosal for a discussion about what is known from the literature on how mindfulness can help with student learning and mental health.

Resources for Faculty Success

NC State’s Office for Faculty Excellence fosters faculty success in every career stage by offering professional and leadership development programming, supporting policies related to faculty employment, and facilitating faculty awards and recognition. The office, formed from a merger of the former Office of Faculty Affairs and the Office of Faculty Development, continues to support and guide faculty by enhancing traditional offerings and expanding programming.

Office for Faculty Excellence – New Name, Same High-Level Service to Faculty

Both the Office of Faculty Affairs and the Office of Faculty Development helped NC State faculty in professional development for more than 10 years. During that time, their shared ideals strengthened each other’s efforts, bringing about the realization that they would work even more effectively together.
