Honoring Faculty Scholars
NC State’s faculty engage in a high level of teaching, research and service that makes the university stand out amongst its peers. To recognize some of those faculty, Chancellor Randy Woodson established the University Faculty Scholars program in 2012.
On the Right Track
Professional track faculty members — who make up more than ⅓ of the NC State faculty — make achieving the university’s mission and vision possible. They encompass many different roles throughout NC State’s colleges and Extension, and serve fellow faculty and students through their teaching, research and service.
NC State Holds 2020-21 University Teaching Awards Virtual Ceremony
NC State honored winners of the 2020-21 University Teaching Awards in a virtual ceremony on Nov. 10. The event was part of Red and White Week, the university’s annual homecoming celebration.
Nominations for 2020-21 Faculty Awards Sought
Nominations are now open for seven awards for NC State faculty members. This year’s nomination submission deadlines have been moved up a few weeks earlier than normal in order to accommodate the change in the fall semester calendar, and to provide departments and colleges ample time to prepare nominations.

Systemic Change in STEM Faculty
The Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate - North Carolina Alliance seeks to increase the number of underrepresented minorities (URM) in faculty positions. The three universities making up the AGEP-NC Alliance, NC State, NC A&T State University and UNC Charlotte, are working together to move toward this goal.

2019-20 University Teaching Awards Announced
NC State has honored more than 30 faculty for their commitment to educational excellence with the 2019-20 University Teaching Awards. A recognition event for all award recipients will be held when conditions are more favorable.
New Faculty Research Orientation
We encourage all new faculty at NC State to join us for an event hosted by the Office of Research and Innovation. The half-day program agenda includes panels, networking sessions and updates.
2019 Promoted and Tenured Faculty
Promotion and tenure remain hallmarks of academic achievement and excellence for NC State faculty. Promoted faculty have met rigorous standards in their realms of responsibility, and tenured faculty have made a significant impact in their discipline.
