Campus inclusivity — making NC State a safer, more welcoming place for all — spans all aspects of university life, from teaching and learning to service and innovation. The Office of Faculty Development’s |RED| Inclusive Teaching Certification seeks to enrich faculty and teaching graduate students with inclusive teaching training, to the benefit of all.
Extending a Helping Hand
Providing services to all of North Carolina’s 100 counties in “normal” times takes the tireless efforts of hundreds of NC State Extension workers. Add in the COVID-19 pandemic, and what Extension accomplishes from the mountains to the coast is nothing short of amazing.

Many events in 2020 brought issues of systemic racism and injustice to the forefront of the American consciousness. In response to these issues, the NC State community continues to strive to create a campus ingrained with equity, inclusivity and allyship, and is taking immediate steps to know and do better.
NC State Celebrates Outstanding Faculty
The Celebration of Faculty Excellence is held each spring to recognize outstanding faculty who have received prestigious awards, accolades or other distinctions during the previous year. In 2020, NC State honored 25 faculty virtually since the annual event could not be held in person.

Senior Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and Services Louis Hunt has announced that he will retire at the end of the 2020-2021 academic year.

Meet the 2020-2021 Provost’s Faculty Fellows
The Provost’s Faculty Fellows Program has selected a second cohort of talented faculty to explore academic leadership roles at the university’s highest levels. Four Fellows will embark on specific projects throughout the 2020-2021 academic year, with mentorship provided by senior administrative officials.

Strategic Plan Task Force Reports Now Available
NC State’s strategic planning process moves forward again, with all nine strategic plan task force reports posted on individual task force websites. The campus community can review reports and provide feedback to the Strategic Planning Executive Steering Committee through Monday, September 21.
