Extraordinary Futures

Thousands of new NC State graduates headed out into the world following Spring Commencement 2017, each of them in pursuit of their own extraordinary future. The ceremony took place Saturday, May 13 in the PNC Arena in Raleigh. The city’s mayor, Nancy McFarlane, delivered the commencement address.

Outstanding Faculty Support

Dr. Katie Perry, senior vice provost and professor emerita, will retire at the end of the semester after serving NC State full- and part-time for 37 years. She’ll then hand over many of her responsibilities to Dr. Courtney Thornton, associate vice provost for academic personnel and policy and an NC State College of Education alumna.

The NC State Faculty Ombuds Office will now extend services to NC State staff members (all SHRA and EHRA non-faculty). This initiative will be a pilot program in 2017.
