April 2022 Provost’s Corner
Dear faculty and staff,
The end of the 2021-22 academic year approaches quickly, but we’re certainly not slowing down on campus.
This is the time of year where we honor our outstanding faculty and staff, and we have much to celebrate. We recently announced the 2021-22 Provost’s Unit Awards for Excellence and University Teaching Awards. Laura Clarke, professor in the Department of Physics, received the University of North Carolina Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching, the most prestigious award given to faculty for teaching excellence.
This year, we’re proud to add the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Teaching to our teaching honors. Lisa Bullard, teaching professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, received the inaugural award, which is the most prestigious award for exceptional teaching given to professional full-time faculty from among NC State’s 10 colleges and the University College.
Additionally, we’re celebrating the success of our annual Day of Giving, which raised more than $23 million. This will carry our university far in advancing our mission and vision, and will enrich the professional and academic lives of our Wolfpack family.
All of these achievements underscore your hard work and commitment to making our university a model for our peers in higher education. With final exams and commencement ceremonies right around the corner, I look forward to continuing to celebrate NC State’s comprehensive excellence with all of you.
