Search for Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Now Underway

An open search for the dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences is now underway.

As previously noted, Dean Rich Linton will step down February 15 to become the president of Kansas State University. John Dole, associate dean and director for academic programs, will serve as interim dean effective February 16.

The nomination committee is chaired by Dean Louis Martin-Vega of the College of Engineering. The other committee members each represent a group of college constituents including faculty from each department (representing teaching, research and extension), department heads, administration, EHRA non-faculty staff, SHRA staff, students and the NC Agricultural Foundation, as well as representatives from external stakeholder groups. Committee members are:

Executive Search Services in NC State’s Human Resources division will be working alongside the committee on the search. Kelly Wick will be managing the search for the Provost’s Office.

The nomination committee will hold its first meeting in the next two weeks and will continue to work during the spring semester. The Provost’s Office will hold four listening sessions to hear what the college and its stakeholders are looking for in the next dean. Information regarding those sessions will be shared next week.
