March 2021 Provost’s Corner

Provost Warwick Arden

Dear faculty and staff,

As we move through the spring semester, we’re facing a renewal of hope for the campus community. Many of you have already been able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, with many more of you scheduled to do so in the near future.

With that in mind and new cases on the decline, we are looking forward to a normal fall semester. This has been made possible by all of us working together to adhere to community standards and taking responsibility for our overall health and safety.

Additionally, I’m excited that NC State is planning two in-person commencement ceremonies at Carter-Finley Stadium for our spring 2021 graduates on Friday, May 14, and Saturday, May 15. We still need to take all necessary precautions to make sure this will happen as planned. Please regularly visit our Protect the Pack website for all of the latest updates.

We also have reason to celebrate the many women who make NC State an excellent place to live, learn and work this Women’s History Month. These faculty, staff and students, help us serve as a model to our peers in higher education.

I also wanted to let you know that we are hard at work developing our next strategic plan, one which will guide us into continued prosperity over the next decade. You can keep up with all planning information and updates on our strategic planning website

Thank you to everyone who has made this past year, however difficult at times, more bearable. I look forward to being able to see all of you in person soon.

Until next time,
Warwick Arden
Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost
