Smriti Shringi
Bio
Dr. Smriti Shringi is an infectious disease biologist with research focus on the development of point-of-care (POC) and high-throughput tools for the surveillance, detection, and diagnosis of infectious diseases at the interface of animal and public health. Additionally, Dr. Smriti investigates the pathogenesis, virulence, and molecular epidemiology of infectious diseases, with an emphasis on identifying molecular biomarkers for effective diagnostics and surveillance. She focuses on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) a significant one health challenge. She aims to unravel the evolutionary mechanisms behind the emergence, persistence, and loss of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and understanding its effects on pathogen fitness. Insights gained through their studies will aid in devising improved strategies/tools to combat these pathogens.
