Bio
Dr. Kaori Sakamoto received her BS in Zoology from Duke University, and her MLS in Physiology and DVM from NC State. She did an anatomic pathology residency at Purdue University and is a board-certified veterinary pathologist. Her PhD is in tuberculosis immunology from Cornell University, and this was her area of research for 15 years at the University of Georgia. She is currently the Head of the Department of Population Health and Pathobiology and no longer runs a research laboratory; however, she still performs histopathology for several collaborators nationally mainly in the field of respiratory infections. Several members of her department are actively involved in GOHA’s mission, and she enthusiastically supports their efforts.
